I didn't think I would be able to quit my smoking habit. It was not effortless but I started some smoking control by replacing additional activities and habits for times when I would usually smoke. When I decided that I had to break the smoking habit I started with a list of pros and cons for my choice to smoke or to stop. In other words what I was getting out of smoking and then the cons to maintaining my smoking habit. Of course the pros far outweighed the cons. The financial and health costs of a smoking addiction makes the decision to continue on one you cant really confirm in any sense except for the fact that as a smoker this is a habit that you savor.

After I made my list I hung this list up on my bathroom mirror and also on my refrigerator door. I wanted each day to see my motivation for changing my behavior this aided quite since quitting smoking is a decision one has to establish day by day. If you stop smoking you have to suspect there will be times when you will slip but in the times past that I slipped, I just accepted failure and started smoking full steam ahead. This time if I backslid and bought a pack of cigarettes or smoked one I begged from a friend I allowed myself forgiveness for not being perfect and started right back up.

Before I saw the bathroom scales go up I made sure to exercise more and not to substitute eating with smoking. I also rewarded myself by pampering myself with a little something I in most cases would not do for myself. When I pay attention to careful smoking control my cigarette consumption always goes down. I shall not say that I don't think about smoking occasionally and almost certainly always will but I always prompt myself that what you save is both health and money. Your clothes do not smell like smoke your hair doesn't reek of smoke and you can better enjoy the food you eat. You can also put the cash you would have used for punching cigarettes into a bank account and watch it grow.
