B&N's Recent Nook Wireless Portable Reading Device Squares Up To Amazon's Portable Reading Device
By proprietary formats, when you buy a book for digital download from Amazon it will arrive in their own file format .AZW that only allows you to open it on amazon's wireless reading device. So if in the future, obviously after you have have checked out all the digital book readers for the latest model at the best price, you then decided you sought to swap ebook readers to another make, your library of e-books become of no use. Make your own mind up if that is decent or not.
That scenario has been a big stumbling block for the industry in common but also for the makers of other reading devices in particular. They where never going to be able to offer the amount of books Amazon where capable of doing and so this aided sales of the Kindle . Therefore you can see that any electronic book reading device that has backing for this format will be future resistant. B&N's Nook Revolutionary wireless reading device has .E-pub support, as does the Sony Daily Edition, and so you can download your ebooks from wherever you prefer, paid for or free, and not simply from the manufacturer of the kindle digital reader , that is the case with the Kindle portable reading device.
