Bare Wood Furniture Vs. Finished: Which One Is Less Expensive, Better Quality, More Stable, And Completely Exclusive.
I have a influenced opinion when it comes to answering the question that is the title of this article, and I know it. At most, I can only hope to adequately explain my position that bare wood furniture is, dollar for dollar, the far higher value, but let's take a look at some of the factors why and see if I can't convince you.
First, bare wood furniture is made of...well, wood. Not pressboard, not particle board, not sawdust and Elmer's attempting to pass itself off as wood, but real, honest to goodness wood! Next time you are at your local chain shop, ask them to show you all their "solid wood" furniture and really look it over. More often than not, I am betting you'll find pressboard somewhere.
Second, bare wood furniture costs lower. Sometimes a lot less. Yes, you've to "do something" to it (and we will get to that in a moment), but that's more of an opportunity gained than lost. Economic times being what they're, most everybody is looking to save money where they can, and this seems like a great tradeoff to me.
Third, bare wood furniture allows you to put your innovative stamp on it as you finish the piece, instead of getting something "just like every third house in the country." Express yourself! Be exclusive! Create something that's pure "you."
Fourth, bare wood furniture is more durable. That's because, ultimately, all that pressboard really is not extremely strong. All wood furniture is as rugged and long-lasting as it is beautiful.
Fifth, bare wood furniture gets better with time. With proper care at its finishing, you can make an heirloom piece which will probably serve for generations. Majority of the store bought furniture simply becomes "used furniture" after 3-5 years. Great difference.
I fell in love with unfinished furniture
with my first piece (a 6' tall, oak, double bookcase). As we gradually replace the furniture in our house, as much as possible, we're using bare wood furniture. It's less expensive, better quality, more stable, and totally exclusive.
What is not to like?
Staining Wood Furniture - Distressing And Quite A Few Other Helpful Suggestions To Help Enrich The Overall Look Of The Piece. If you've taken a recent stroll through a "regular" furniture store lately (no bare wood furniture in sight), you've probably noticed that many of the more popular pieces are "weathered" or "distressed." It's the furniture equivalent of "stone washed jeans."
Staining Wood Furniture - Sanding And Experimentation When staining wood furniture, it's important to understand just how vital sanding and experimentation are, as these two aspects of the process can dramatically impact the overall appearance of your finished product.
The Right Strategy To Wax Unpainted Wood Furniture Waxing unpainted wood furniture is a very popular way of finishing the piece. If you are going to wax your recent purchase, you need to first seal the wood so that it doesn't remain porous.
Picking Out The Most Suitable Pillow Sham For Your Bedroom A pillow sham is a decorative cover for a regular pillow. It gives people the idea that you have spent money on those expensive small decorative pillows, but really you just purchased a regular cheap pillow and put a sham over it.

What Folding Coffee Tables Offer Your Home In designing you house, there are many things that you can choose to transform your ideas to reality. You would definitely love coming home once you have the right pieces placed at the perfect spots like a complete puzzle solved and sealed.
The Two Main Differences Between Local Stores And Online Unfinished Furniture Sites Whenever possible, I would recommend shopping for bare wood furniture at a brick and mortar shop vs. buying from an online unfinished furniture store. There are two primary reasons for this.
Yard Benches Are The Answer To Outdoor Seating The lumber yards and home centers are inundated with people trying to select the right projects, products and deck benches and garden furniture to improve the value of their homes and the quality of their lives.
Choices For Oak Benches Inside And Outside Your Home Oak benches are a fantastic addition to a home because they look great and can be used inside or out. It is an inexpensive type of wood providing fancy designs and giving you more options.
Unpolished Fixtures Stores Have Affordable And Excellent Furniture Articles There are many different styles of furnishings to be found at unpainted furniture stores. It has to be said most of the pieces will be mass produced reproductions. That doesn't mean that you cannot turn it into beautiful fixtures for your home.
Are You Looking For Unfinished Wood Furniture Shops? You can find unfinished wood furniture stores in most outlet villages or alternatively you could shop online. The problem with buying furniture online is the fact that you can't see the actual pieces.
